I love this little bead shop by the beach so much. My mom and I would come in here to make anklets, bracelets, and necklaces when I was a kid. Of course, everything I ever made ended up lost or broken, but the memories of going here are forever!
This location has been here since 1985 — the original location was just half a block away, opened in 1973 by “The Three Ladies” Suzy Millette, Virginia Mason, and Anna Lee Dixon. Today it is owned by Melissa Leigh Amish.
The Bead Shop is more than just a store; it's a creative and nostalgic sanctuary. The Bead Shop is a place where inspiration flows freely, friendships are forged, and limitless jewelry possibilities await.
When I visited to take pictures of the shop for my reference in making the cookie, I got to meet the new owner, Melissa. She was so delighted to hear that I was planning to make a cookie of the Bead Shop sign. She excitedly mentioned the encounter in an article for “Stu News Laguna.” I loved meeting her and getting to share how special this shop is to me.
